About Scott Kimball

I’m Scott E. Kimball, founder of Kimball Consulting LLC in Chaska, Minnesota. After more than 40 years in information technology — including over 15 years specializing in Microsoft SQL Server — I’m now focused full-time on helping businesses with professional websites, reliable hosting, and solid database foundations.

My website work over the years was largely volunteer. This is now my second career, and I’m applying the same standards of quality, performance, and clarity that I used in enterprise environments.

Background

Most recently I served as Senior Database Developer Analyst at U.S. Bank (Freight Payment Systems), where I engineered back-end architecture for dashboards, built caching and ETL processes, and improved performance for high-volume carrier systems. Prior to that I spent nearly nine years at UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement, migrating systems from Access to SQL Server, building underwriting tools, and improving data integrity.

Earlier roles included database and application development at Wells Fargo, Long Term Care Group, and other organizations.

How I Work

I favor clear communication, practical solutions, and maintainable results. For websites that means clean Elementor builds (often accelerated with Elementor MCP) that you or your team can actually edit later. For databases it means thoughtful modeling, performance that holds up, and documentation that makes sense.

Based in the Twin Cities area and happy to work with local businesses as well as clients farther afield.
